Who we are

DKD’s name comes from our family, whose love of Lego® was something that always brought us together - and still does! Family Lego nights were a way for all of us to spend time together without electronics. It was a way to share about our day, work together and also burn off some of the energy that always seemed to make it hard to sit still long enough to have meaningful family time!

Devlyn is our youngest Lego® aficionado and is the inspiration for the first “D”. She is our curly-haired, artistic, smart and funny girl who is currently really into Spider-man…. you can see some of her Lego builds in our photos!

Our “K” is for Kody, the only boy and the first born child of our family. Kody is now our angel, but he can still be felt very much present every time we build. He was also the inspiration for DKD…. The proverbial kick in the pants to remind us that if you keep putting your dreams on hold, they may never come true…. With that in mind, DKD Sip and Build came to be in July of 2025 and we hope that our dream becomes something that helps you build memories that will last a lifetime!

The final “D” is for Danielle, the mom of our crew…. the first of our family to truly find a love of Lego®. That’s me….. Managing a family, a high-stress career in the building trades and all the other adult-like responsibilities that we all deal with every day left me looking for a stress-relieving outlet… Lego® came to the rescue. Many builds into what some say became an obsession….. I realized that what had become a great stress-relieving activity was also a great way to bring our little family together… and it continues to do so.

DKD Sip and Build is the next chapter of this sharing of my Love of Lego® as well as the realization that it is a great way to bring people together for a fun and memorable time. It is my hope that you will also find joy, laughter, togetherness and even stress-relief by coming together at our Sip and Build events.
